OUR DNA
VISION
Turning broken people into relentless, loving servants of Jesus Christ.
Pikes Peak Christian Church helps people encounter God and say 'yes' to Him in Colorado Springs, CO with great recovery and restoration ministries and classes, including kids and adults with special needs while feeling like the smallest big church in the Pikes Peak area.
MISSION
Helping more people, more often, say 'yes' to God!
Pikes Peak Christian Church in Colorado Springs is committed to connecting seekers, growing believers, building families, and impacting communities. This is achieved by creating environments that help you encounter God, hear his voice, and say 'yes' to Him.
OUR STORY
This church in Colorado Springs was formed in the summer of 1956 when a handful of believers felt led by God to plant a ministry in the Security area that would reach the growing bedroom community with a large concentration of both retired and active-duty military. The Christian Church of Security met in a small house on Morningside Drive, then purchased land on Aspen Drive and built their first worship facility. Over the next several decades the church family grew as families were blessed by the ministry to children, teens, and adults. The church was blessed by the long pastorates of Dallas Shafer and Bryan Myers.
It was under Pastor Myers’ leadership that the church decided to relocate to its current location on Bradley Road in April of 2001. With the move and the opportunity for greater ministry, the church changed its name to Pikes Peak Christian Church and opened its doors to all within sight of the majestic mountain bearing that name. In November of 2011 the church opened the doors of a new worship center and beautiful lobby, making room for our growing community and freeing up space for our children in our old building, a place the kids and youth call The NextGen Worship Center.
Darrin Ronde joined the church staff in 1995 as Outreach & Church Growth Pastor and transitioned to the role of Senior Pastor in the Spring of 2004. Almost 20 years later, Darrin & Julie Ronde retired in April of 2023.
Our current Lead Pastor, Ross Frisbie and his wife, Abby, took the batton in April of 2023 alongside their 3 teenaged boys. One thing that makes Pikes Peak Christian Church unique is that there have only been 4 senior pastors since 1956!
BELIEF SYSTEM
PPCC recognizes the importance of having framework around which we grow in maturity and relate to one another as a community of believers, and we hold the following essentials at the core of who we are and what we believe.
Want to see a full breakdown of major things we believe in? Download a document that covers things from speaking in tongues to predestination and more.
We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ – His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His reconciling death for all people, His resurrection from the dead, His ascension to Heaven, and His return in power and glory.
We believe the Bible is without error and the authority for all we believe and practice.
We believe salvation is by the grace of God, apart from any personal merit, and is the common need of all people, who have sinned and fallen short of God’s standards. Salvation is through faith in Christ alone.
We believe the appropriate response of faith to the grace of God is that we repent of sin, confess Christ as Lord, are baptized (immersed) in His Name, and continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord.
We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling presence empowers and directs the Christian to live a godly life.
We believe in the resurrection from the dead, with believers inheriting eternal life with Christ and unbelievers facing judgment.
We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe marriage is an exclusive, life-long covenant between a man and a woman and that sexual intimacy should be confined to those who have entered into that publicly recognized union.
We believe that God determines male or female gender in the womb, and that gender is affirmed by biological traits present at birth and is unchangeable. We believe that both genders
equally reflect the image of God and all should be treated with respect, understanding and compassion. (Ge 1:27; 2:22-23; 1 Co 11:12; Ga 3:28)
