The Care Center at Pikes Peak Christian Church
COUNSELING INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The Care Center is a “high touch” training environment where there are multiple opportunities for direct observation, supervision, and audio/video recording of counseling sessions. We have a structured training approach that begins with clinical interviewing and case conceptualization and unfolds into graduated counseling experiences according to the individual student’s mastery of counseling skills, clinical interests, and professional development. This is all done under the supervision of a licensed supervisor.
The clinical training program at the Care Center at Pikes Peak Christian Church offers opportunities for clinical mental health training with onsite supervision from licensed mental health therapists. The Counseling Internship Program is for Master’s level students who are pursuing a degree in counseling. We offer Practicum and Internship experiences for qualified candidates who are in good standing with their respective University programs. This training site operates with affiliation agreements with university programs to meet the requirements for the respective degrees. The Care Center site is organized to meet experience placement requirements for CACREP-accredited training programs. We have also served students in COMAFTE-accredited programs.
WHO WE ARE
MISSION
The Care Center at Pikes Peak Christian Church (PPCC) is available to provide help, hope, healing, and restoration in a safe environment for individuals, couples, and families with a wide range of presenting problems and counseling concerns. The Care Center offers a unique opportunity for the integration of faith in counseling, as well as non-faith-based clinical services for clients who do not want a spiritual or religious component in their counseling.
VISION
The Care Center is designed to be an outreach for counseling needs in the community
We strive to be a church without walls. Jesus calls for us to go outside the walls to reach the lost and the broken. As an open, low-cost counseling clinic, the Care Center sees clients from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds.
COUNSELORS
Counselors at the Care Center are here to help guide people through life’s difficult issues, whether it involves individual, marriage, or family and group sessions. Using Biblical principles and the Power of God’s Spirit, there is hope in all situations. With God’s help, life change and restoration are possible.

Testimonial
My experience as an intern with Pikes Peak Christian Church was absolutely invigorating. I had a steady flow of people to work with, some of whom I met with weekly for the better part of a year. The majority of my clients were couples looking to improve their relationships. I worked with large family systems, blended families, teen cutters, folks dealing with pornography, prescription drug and alcohol addictions, battered wives, and battered husbands. This experience was a tremendous backdrop for my development into private practice. This internship experience was wonderful for my developing private practice.
