I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life

Sermon Series:

I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life

John 14:1-6

“Dear children, I will be with you only a little longer. And as I told the Jewish leaders, you will search for me, but you can’t come where I am going.”
John 13:33

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.”
John 14:1

1. Trust in him for today.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:1(NIV)

“Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”
John 20:30-31 (NIV)

“The LORD is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him.”
Nahum 1:7

“Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!” “My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed. Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”
John 20:27-29

“There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”
John 14:2-3

2. Trust in him for tomorrow.

“Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord.”
2 Corinthians 5:8

3. Trust him exclusively and completely.

“And you know the way to where I am going.” “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
John 14:4-6

“I—yes, I alone—will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again.” Isaiah 43:25 “He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.”
Psalm 103:12

“Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean!”Micah 7:19
“The Father and I are one.”
John 10:30

“Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or at least believe because of the work you have seen me do.”
John 14:11

“Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth. I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.”
John 17:17-21

“We must celebrate with a feast, for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.”
Luke 15:23-24

“There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”
Acts 4:12
